The Lee-Scott boys basketball team will take some time off this week in an effort to get healthy after starting the season 2-1.

The Warriors took the season-opener last week 51-36 over Morgan Academy.

Head coach William Johnson said the players performed well in the first half, building a 30-point lead, but had a slow third quarter.

"We played really well in the first half. We played with a lot of energy. In the third quarter, we kind of lost our legs a little bit," he said.

The team was slowed by nagging injuries carried over from football season.

On Tuesday, the Warriors bested Crenshaw Academy 65-32 before dropping a back-and-forth game to Tuscaloosa Academy, 47-46.

Johnson said the team played really well, but just didn't finish down the stretch.

LSA returns to action vs. Pike Liberal Arts on Dec. 5.
