The Lee-Scott football team will open the first round of the playoffs like the Warriors finished the regular season — playing against Pike Liberal Arts.

The Warriors (6-4) defeated Pike 28-14 last week to close the regular season slate.

Head coach Robert Maddox said last week's game "shaped up kind of strange" because Pike had more than 70 offensive plays to the Warriors' 35.

"Keep in mind, that we never did get the chance to get even close to the goal line," he said. "Our touchdowns came from big, long runs. It’s very uncharacteristic of us.

"At the end of the day, they doubled our offensive plays, and we doubled their points. I’ll take the latter."

Maddox said it's challenging playing the same team two weeks in a row because you don't know exactly what plays or schemes you might have seen or not.

"We’ve seen all their film and what they did last week against us was very uncharacteristic," he said. "They did some things we had not seen or prepared for. I guess we just have to play it and see what happens."
