We have the chance to place a true leader on the Alabama State Board of Education. Please join me on Tuesday to send Tracie West to Montgomery to serve the children of not just East Alabama, but the entire state.

I had the honor of serving for 10 years on the Auburn City Schools Board of Education. For seven of my 10 years, Tracie West served with me on that board. She is a very hard worker who approaches tasks with an open mind. Tracie’s top priority is always the best interest of students. Auburn has long been blessed with a top-tier school system, and Tracie has been a big part of that success during her nine years of service on that board. She also has the added benefit of 20 years’ experience as the owner of a successful small business.

Having grown up in Cleburne County and now having lived in Auburn for the last 17 years, most of my life has been spent in District 2. I went to good public schools and now my children do, too. I am very confident that Tracie West has the vision, skills and temperament to serve this part of the state well and to improve public education.

Voter turnout in this runoff election will be critical. Please go to the polls on Tuesday and cast your vote to improve Alabama’s schools — vote for Tracie West for State School Board.
