I wholeheartedly support Ron Anders in his campaign to be the next mayor of Auburn.

“Coach Anders,” as he is known to my family, became a mentor and role model to my son nearly 10 years ago. When the Raptors Basketball program was formed, Ron was instrumental in creating an organization that would provide athletic and character-building opportunities for the young people in our community.

He volunteered to coach my son’s team and immediately had an impact as he stressed hard work, being a great teammate and building relationships.

At the end of practice my son would come up to me and say, “Thank you for bringing me to practice,” and I knew that Coach Anders was training him on the court and off. In the years that have followed, Ron has continued to invest in my son’s life by supporting and encouraging him every step of the way.

Auburn needs someone who is invested in this community, but even more importantly, our city needs someone who is invested in people. Ron has done both. I know he cares about people and is willing to put in the time and effort it takes to listen, learn, and lead the people of Auburn.
