One child made his way up a climbing wall while another ate a Popsicle while slowly gliding down a tracked swing. Other children played on interactive instruments, dancing a tune on a keyboard like Tom Hanks in "Big" or tapping the bars of a large xylophone with mallets.

The blistering summer heat didn't keep these children or other area residents from turning out last Friday to both play and celebrate the opening of the Town Creek Inclusive Playground, where city leaders and others gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
