On Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, Auburn Police were called in reference to several reports of criminal mischief being discovered in the downtown area. According to the reports, miscellaneous graffiti was drawn or marked on various structures and building, causing damage and requiring city workers and business owners to spend time removing or covering it. 

Further investigation into the incidents by Auburn Police resulted in a suspect being captured on video surveillance. The suspect is described as a white male with dark hair, white t-shirt and blue jeans. 

The Auburn Police Division is asking that anyone with information on the case or recognizes the suspect to call detectives at (334) 501-3140 or the anonymous tip line (334) 246-1391. Those individuals convicted of criminal mischief third-degree face a fine of several hundred dollars and incarceration in the Lee County Jail.
