Amy Wright, co-founder of Bitty & Beau's Coffee, speaks to a large crowd that showed up for the store's grand-opening

Last Saturday morning, about 100 people standing out front of the AuburnBank building loudly cheered as the names of the new staff were called out at the grand-opening of Bitty & Beau's Coffee, a North Carolina-based company that aims to change the way others see people with disabilities while also offering them gainful employment.

Co-founder Amy Wright was on hand for last Saturday's opening of Bitty & Beau's in Auburn, the company's 13th location, in the new AuburnBank building on North Gay Street. The coffee shop is named after her two children, both of whom have Down syndrome.

This place is so amazing and the employees are so friendly and funny. From what I gather they hire almost exclusively folks with disabilities in the local area. The coffee is good and I recommend visiting. If you see Jerry tell him I say hi
