Auburn Mall

The Auburn Mall has announced it will soon open a new gallery to promote and support local artists and art programs. The Gallery at the Auburn Mall will be located just past the food court and will be utilized to host a variety of local art events and exhibits.

The inaugural program held in The Gallery will be CREATE!, a new program that promotes the importance of art education, raises funds for local programs and inspires young artists.

Schools can sign up to display their artwork in The Gallery, and during the exhibit, the community can vote for student artwork to advance to Auburn’s Top Young Artist Competition. Each vote is $1 and all proceeds generated are donated back to the school’s art program. A panel of local artists will then determine the winner to receive a prize and the Top Young Artist Award.

“We are excited to bring a new concept to the Auburn Mall that will connect the community with local artists and art programs. We have a strong lineup of first-class shopping and dining options in the Auburn Mall and The Gallery will provide a new and unique experience for shoppers," said Coles Doyle, marketing director for Hull Property Group, the company that owns the mall. "The goal is to expose the community to all the talent we have right here in Auburn through exhibits that feature everything from student artwork to established artists. We look forward to launching with the inaugural CREATE! program and announcing future exhibits soon."

Work on The Gallery space, which includes new flooring, paint and signage, has begun and is expected to be completed this fall. The CREATE! exhibit will be the first event hosted in the space and will open on Nov. 5. Future events and exhibits are being planned and will be announced soon.

Registration for CREATE! is now open and schools should visit www.ourcitycreates.com to sign up. The deadline to register is Sept. 13. For more information or questions on The Gallery at the Auburn Mall contact mallevents@hullpg.com.
