The Auburn City Schools Board of Education announced a tentative date for holding a graduation ceremony for Auburn High School seniors at its annual meeting on Tuesday.

The board, meeting virtually, announced a tentative date of July 23 for the graduation ceremony.

"I do want to make the notation that these are tentative," said ACS Superintendent Cristen Herring. "There is a little bit of uncertainty moving forward. However, it is our hope that we will be able to gather as school family on July 23 to celebrate the Auburn High School Class of 2020 in a graduation ceremony. The events are being planned and scheduled by the team at Auburn High School, so I hope that by July 23 we could gather the more than 600 graduates and those that wish to celebrate them for the honor and recognition that is well deserved."

Herring also provided an update on ongoing construction projects, saying that renovations to Cary Woods Elementary and Drake Middle School were on schedule.
