NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

TO: All citizens of the City of Auburn, Alabama, and other interested persons:

Take notice that the Auburn Board of Zoning Adjustment will meet on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Auburn Public Safety Department, located

at 141 North Ross Street, Auburn, Alabama. The Board will hear a request from Ray Huff, of Auburn Realty, LLC., for four (4) variances to Section 605.01, Permitted Freestanding Signs, of

the City of Auburn Zoning Ordinance, and one (1) variance to Table 5-6, Development and design standard requirements within the Urban Neighborhood West District (UN-W). The first is

a variance to Section 605.01.A., General [Freestanding] Business Signs, to allow for a second freestanding sign on a development site when only one is permitted. The second is a variance

to Section 605.01.D., Freestanding signs in the Urban Core, Urban Neighborhood Districts, and Corridor Redevelopment Districts – East (CRD-E) and West (CRD-W) east of North Donahue

Drive, to allow a freestanding sign in the UN-W zoning district to exceed the eight (8) foot maximum height allowance by twelve (12) feet to allow a sign to be twenty (20) feet in height. The

third is a variance to Section 605.01.D. of ten (10) feet to the required minimum setback of ten (10) feet to allow a setback of zero (0) feet. The fourth is a variance to Section 605.01.D. of

thirty-two (32) square feet to the maximum thirty-two (32) square feet allowed for freestanding signs in the UN-W zoning district to allow for a freestanding sign that is sixty-four (64)

square feet in area. The fifth is a variance to Table 5-6, Development and design standard requirements within the Urban Neighborhood West District (UN-W) to allow an electric reader

board in the UN-W zoning district where they are prohibited. The subject property is located at 233 West Glenn Avenue in the Urban Neighborhood West District (UN-W).
