NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

TO: All citizens of the City of Auburn, Alabama, and other interested persons:

Take notice that the Auburn Historic Preservation Commission will meet on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Development Services Building, located at

171 North Ross Street, Auburn, Alabama. The Commission will meet to discuss the following agenda items:

1. CONSIDERATION OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE DESCRIPTION OF THE RESIDENCE LOCATED AT 535 NORTH COLLEGE STREET

A request by from David and Michelle Held to amend the February 13, 2006 survey resource name of the property located at 535 North College Street from the Lewis-Schaefer House to

Irvine House. The Helds have documentation showing the house was designed and built for Dr. and Mrs. Paul Irvine (Gladys). Dr. Irvine was a professor in the School of Education at

Auburn University.

2. CERTIFICATES OF APPROPRIATENESS

PL-2019-00399: Certificate of Appropriateness for 406 North College Street

A request from Stephen Jenkins for a Certificate of Appropriateness (PL-2019-00399) to allow the installation of a three (3) foot decorative “wrought iron” type fence to enclose the front

yard. The property is zoned Neighborhood Conservation (NC-20) and contains a contributing single-story residence with a new rear addition. The property is located at 406 North College

Street, in the North College Historic District.

PL-2019-00402: Certificate of Appropriateness for 406 North College Street

A request from Stephen Jenkins for a Certificate of Appropriateness (PL-2019-00402) to allow the installation of a four (4) foot decorative “wrought iron” type fence to enclose a portion of

the side yard. The property is zoned Neighborhood Conservation (NC-20) and contains a contributing single-story residence with new rear addition. The property is located at 406 North

College Street, in the North College Historic District.

Pl-2019-00400: Certificate of Appropriateness for 121 Mitcham Avenue

A request from Lloyd deLatour for a Certificate of Appropriateness (PL-2019-00400) to allow a change to the front entry door from a metal door with a full decorative art-glass insert and full

side lights to a wood clad, Arts and Crafts style door with quarter light with quarter height side light. The property is zoned Redevelopment District (RDD) and contains a contributing

two-story residential structure. The property is located at 121 Mitcham Avenue, in the North College Historic District.

Pl-2019-00401: Certificate of Appropriateness for 121 Mitcham Avenue

A request from Lloyd deLatour for a Certificate of Appropriateness (PL-2019-00401) to allow the construction of a two-story, two-unit residential dwelling, each with 3 bedrooms, on the rear

of the property. The property is zoned Redevelopment District (RDD) and contains a contributing two-story residential structure. The property is located at 121 Mitcham Avenue, in the

North College Historic District.
