NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
In accordance with Title 11-52-77 of the Alabama Code, as amended and the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Auburn, notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Auburn will
hold a public hearing on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Auburn Public Safety Department located at 141 North Ross Street. The purpose of the
public hearing is to consider the following:

AN ORDINANCE TO FURTHER AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 1883 OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, DATED DECEMBER 21, 1999, AS AMENDED, TO REZONE APPROXIMATELY 49.17 ACRES,
MORE OR LESS, LOCATED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF WIRE ROAD AND WEST OF COX ROAD, FROM RURAL (R) TO DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT HOUSING (DDH).
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Auburn, Alabama, as follows:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 1883 of the City of Auburn, Alabama dated December 21, 1999, as amended by subsequent amendments is further amended in the following respect:
The zoning map of the City of Auburn, Alabama, which is made an exhibit to and is a part of said Ordinance No. 1883, is amended to rezone approximately 5.78 acres, more or less, located
on the south side of Wire Road and west of Cox Road, from Rural (R) to Development District Housing (DDH). The following describes the real property:
PARCEL ONE: A Tract or parcel of land in Lee County, Alabama, more particularly described as follows: From the southeast corner of SEC 3, T18N, R25 East, Lee County, Alabama,
which section corner is the point of beginning of the tract of land herein to be described, go thence North 0° 23' West, along the west margin of a public road 3,105 FT to an iron stake;
thence South 35° 03' West along the southeast margin of the Wire Road, 732 FT; thence South 70° 24' East 250 FT; thence South 1°08' East 420 FT; thence North 86°08' West 400 FT; thence
North 49°28' West 146 FT; thence South 37°26' West, along the southeast margin of Wire Road 144.5 FT; thence South 42°06' West, along the southeast margin of Wire Road 300 FT; thence
South 48°34' West, along said margin of said Road, 260 FT; thence South 16°53' East 1,680 FT; thence South 89°27' East, along a fence 703 FT to the point of beginning at said Section corner
less and except Lot 1, Dawson Subdivision, according to and as shown by recorded subdivision plat of record in Town Plat Book 23, Pg. 10, in the office of the Judge of Probate of Lee
PARCEL TWO: Commence at the Northwest corner of the Northeast quarter of section 2, T18N, R25 East, in Lee County, Alabama; run thence South for a distance of 3,049.5 FT; run thence
West for a distance of 2,833 FT to the point of beginning of the parcel or tract of land here to be described: From said point of beginning run thence South 1°08’ East for a distance of 420 FT;
thence North 86°08' West a distance of 400 FT; thence North 49°28' West for a distance of 187.5 FT; thence North 34°45' East for a distance of 450 FT; thence South 70°24” East for a distance of
293.8 FT to the said point of beginning.
Section 2. If any section or provision of this ordinance be declared invalid or unconstitutional by judgment or decree of a court of competent jurisdiction, such judgment or decree shall
not affect any other section or provision of this ordinance.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval by the City Council or upon its otherwise becoming law, but shall be published as required by law and codified as part of the
Code of Auburn, Alabama.
