NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PL-2020-00255

TO: All resident citizens of the City of Auburn, Alabama, and other interested persons:

Take notice that the Planning Commission of the City of Auburn, Alabama, will conduct a public hearing at the Commission's meeting place in the Council Chambers of the Auburn Public Safety Building, located at 141 North Ross Street at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2020. Said hearing will be to consider a request from Mike Maher, Precision Surveying, LLC, on behalf of Thad Webster for a rezoning of approximately 139.8 acres, more or less, located at 1950 Martin Luther King Drive. This is a request to rezone the subject property from Rural (R) to Development District Housing (DDH).

The property in question is more specifically described as follows:

Legal Description: Commencing at the Northwest corner of Section 26, Township 19 North, Range 25 East, Auburn, Lee County, Alabama; thence South 00°02'00" East, a distance of 730.74 feet to the Northwest corner of a parcel of land described in Deed Book 539 Page 347 at the Judge of Probate and The Point of Beginning of a parcel of land described herein: From said POINT OF BEGINNING; thence North 88°45'42" East, a distance of 2191.14 feet to a point; thence South 00°06'36" West, a distance of 1057.49 feet to a point; thence South 89°54'46" East, a distance of 130.01 feet to a point; thence South 00°07'48" West, a distance of 1079.38 feet to a point; thence North 89°59'51" West, a distance of 79.58 feet to a point; thence South 00°03'50" West, a distance of 503.37 feet to a point in the Northern right-of-way of Martin Luther King Drive, also known as Highway 14; thence continue along said right-of-way South 69°30'00" West, a distance of 1061.52 feet to a point; thence continue along said right-of-way a chord bearing of South 73°17'41" West, a chord distance of 247.52 feet, with a radius of 1870.00 feet to a point; thence continue along said right-of-way a chord bearing of South 78°00'57" West, a chord distance of 184.01 feet, with a radius of 5690.00 feet to a point; thence leaving said right-of-way North 15°12'33" West, a distance of 47.51 feet to a point; thence continue a chord bearing North 34°41'42" West, a chord distance of 273.53 feet, with a radius of 410.00 feet to a point; thence North 52°58'12" West, a distance of 145.56 feet to a point; thence continue a chord bearing North 26°42'52" West, a chord distance of 451.22 feet, with a radius of 510.00 feet to a point; thence North 89°32'28" West, a distance of 5.00 feet to a point; thence 00°13'00" West, a distance of 412.28 feet to a point; thence North 87°43'00" West, a distance of 337.10 feet to a point; thence North 00°02'00" West, a distance of 1892.26 feet to The Point of Beginning.

Containing 139.80 Acres, more or less.
