ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed Bids for the construction of the ALDOT UTILITY RELOCATION FOR THE AL HWY 147 & FARMVILLE ROAD ROUNDABOUT will be received by the WATER WORKS BOARD OF THE CITY OF

AUBURN, at Auburn City Hall, in the Office of the City Manager, located at 144 Tichenor Avenue, Auburn, AL 36830, until 2:00 P.M. local time on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at which time

the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. The Project consists of the installation of approximately 260 LF of 16” Ductile Iron Water Main; 540 LF of 12” Ductile Iron Water Main;

90 LF of 24” Steel Casing (Jack & Bore Installation); and related appurtenances in Auburn, AL.

Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form.

The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is Goodwyn, Mills & Cawood, Inc., 2660 EastChase Lane, Suite 200, Montgomery, AL 36117, Attn: Pat Dew (334) 271-3200. Prospective Bidders

may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the

Issuing Office as described below.

Bidding Documents also may be examined at the office of the Water Works Board of the City of Auburn (Board), 1501 West Samford Avenue, Auburn, AL, at the AGC/Isqft Plan Room in

Montgomery, AL, and in the McGraw-Hill Construction Network®.

Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office, during the hours indicated above, upon payment of $20.00 for electronic files and/or $75.00 for each

printed set. Said cost represents the cost of printing, reproduction, handling, and distribution, therefore no refund will be granted. Checks for Bidding Documents shall be payable to

“Goodwyn, Mills & Cawood, Inc.” Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. No partial sets, individual pages or drawing sheets will be provided. No

documents will be issued within 48 hours prior to bid opening. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

Guarantee will be required with each bid as follows: At least five percent (not to exceed $10,000) of the amount bid in the form of a certified or cashier's check or bid bond payable to the

Water Works Board of the City of Auburn, Alabama.

Your attention in particular is invited to the section entitled "Instructions to Bidders", which is to be followed in all respects. The Board reserves the right to select the lowest responsible

bidder as the best interest of the Board may require, to award the purchase contract from any of the bids, to reject any and all bids, and to waive any informalities in bids received. Bids

will be good for thirty (30) days after being opened by the Water Works Board of the City of Auburn, Alabama.

All bidders are required to be compliant with the Beason-Hammon Alabama Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act, Act No. 2011-535 (Code of Alabama (1975) § 31-13-9) as amended May 16,

2012 regarding employment practices.
